Percentage of Completion (POC) based revenue recognition for sales order lines

Requirement:
We have a use case where revenue for a sales order line needs to be recognized based on percentage of completion, rather than:
Point-in-time satisfaction event, or
Period-based (time-based) satisfaction event
We understand how to configure revenue recognition for both point-in-time and period-based methods. However, we are unable to determine how to achieve percentage-based satisfaction (POC) for a standard sales order line.
