Work Definition (Redwood): Only workaround is delete & recreate operation to change Operation Type

In Oracle Fusion Cloud SCM Manufacturing (Redwood UI), when creating a Work Definition, an operation is auto-created by the placeholder feature. For this operation, the Operation Type field is read-only, so we cannot change it from In-house to Supplier.

At this time, the only way we found is to delete the operation and create a new one with Operation Type = Supplier.

Question
Is delete & recreate the only supported method to change an operation from In-house to Supplier in Work Definition (especially for placeholder-generated operations)?
