Background / What we want to achieve

We are concerned that when a component or the BOM itself is retired in the BOM (e.g., inactivated, end-dated, excluded, etc.), the change is automatically reflected in the Work Definition, and the Work Definition structure may change unintentionally.

From an operational standpoint:

• The BOM may be retired/changed for engineering reasons, but
• The Work Definition needs to remain fixed for a certain period for manufacturing reasons (or we want to control the timing of when changes are reflected).
