can we create a DFF inservice work order

Hi Team,

We have a requirement to map the Service Request Category to the Work Order. Currently, the category field isn’t available on the Work Order (WO) object. We need this value to flow through to Finance, where it will be used for costing rules.

Given this gap, we would like your guidance on whether creating a Descriptive Flexfield (DFF) on the Work Order is the right approach to store and pass this category information downstream to Finance.

Please advise on the recommended solution.
