How to display Qualification Plan Balance

We have a requirement where the Sick entitlement is 12 days per year. If the leave is more than 3 consecutive days then three consecutive days are paid and remaining are unpaid. however the balance must show as 12 days- 3 days= 9 Days. Unpaid portion should not be deducted from the entitlement.

We have configured as 3 days Paid and 100 as Unpaid in the Qualification Matrix. but this is not reaching our requirements. If we apply for 6 Days, system defaults to 3 Paid days and 3 Unpaid days. However we also need to track 12 days entitlement, show balance as 12-3= 9 Days. How do we achieve this?
