Maintenance Resource Still Visible After Termination

Is Terminating an Employee tied directly to end dating the available Resource within Maintenance?

We've terminated Employee, yet they still remain available to be assigned to a Maintenance Work Order & show in the Resource Group.

Doesn't the Termination automatically end date the Employee as a Resource as well?

Appreciate any insight you may have!
