HDL to delete competencies from performance document?

We need guidance on whether there is an HDL or supported method to remove person profile competencies from an active performance document when the competency becomes out of sync with Skills & Qualifications.

We allow employees to select competencies as part of our talent cycle through Skills & Qualifications / Person Profiles. Our performance document is configured to pull competencies from the Person Profile into the competency section of the performance document.

We are encountering an issue where, once a worker adds a rating and/or comments to a competency in the performance document, the competency appears to become “locked” in the document. Even if the competency is later deleted from Skills & Qualifications, it does not sync out of the performance document.
