How can disable edit for Competencies in the skills and Qualifications section in Redwood?

We are opening the skills and qualifications for team members to update their profile. However, we don't want any input in the competencies section. We tried to remove the edit access from the employee role in the "Profile Content Section Access". Yet, this didn't disable the edit or the adding option.
