Is the receipt created based on credit card authorization or the actual capture amount?

edited Jul 1, 2026 1:38PM in Receivables & Collections

Summary:

We are implementing Oracle Payments with CyberSource for credit card processing.

Our understanding is that Oracle Receivables creates the receipt as soon as it receives the authorization response from the payment gateway, rather than waiting for the actual capture (settlement/charge) of the credit card.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We would like to understand the following:

  1. Is it standard Oracle functionality to create receipts based on the authorization amount instead of the captured amount?
  2. Does Oracle Payments have a standard mechanism to receive the actual captured amount from CyberSource (or other supported payment gateways) and update/create the receipt accordingly?
