PC*MILER Distance Inquiry via OTM Web Services — Integration Approach for 90K Lanes

Summary:

We are currently converting our freight rating model from Flat Rate to Rate Per Mile (RPM) for our client. As part of this initiative, we need to calculate PC*MILER road distances for all active shipping lanes.

Scope: Approximately 90,000 cross-lanes (Zip5 to Zip5) require distance calculation via the PC*MILER External Distance Engine configured in OTM.

We are looking for a Distance Inquiry web service available in OTM's WMServlet framework — similar to how the Rate Inquiry (RIQ) integration object works — so that we can build an OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud) process to:

  1. Send a Distance Inquiry request to OTM with origin/destination Zip5 pairs
