Restricting Knowledge Article Visibility Based on User Attributes

edited Jul 23, 2026 8:59PM in Help Desk

Summary:

Hi all,

I would like to know if it's possible to restrict users' access to Knowledge articles based on a user attribute rather than their role.

For example:

  • Full-time permanent employees should be able to view all Knowledge articles.
  • Part-time employees should only be able to view a subset of the articles.

In this scenario, both sets of users have the same roles. The only difference between them is an employee attribute (for example, employment type).

From my understanding, User Groups primarily categorize users based on their assigned roles, so they may not help differentiate users who share the same roles.

Howdy, Stranger!
