CX Extension Generator fails with duplicate layoutId=Layout1 when importing Metadata Manager XML

Hi everyone,

We are trying to use the CX Extension Generator to migrate legacy Fusion/Sales layouts to a Visual Builder extension.

The process we are following is:

Application Composer → Metadata Manager → Generate Configuration Report → Export XML → CX Extension Generator → Migrate Legacy Layouts

However, when we import the XML generated directly by Metadata Manager into CX Extension Generator, the process fails with the following error:

Failed to read or parse config file: Validation Error: The following layoutIds appear multiple times in the file: [Layout1]. Processing aborted.

We initially suspected that this could be related to a custom object or a customer modification. However, we reproduced the exact same issue using the standard
