Enable “First Responder Wins” for Group-Based Work Definition Approvals

edited Aug 28, 2026 9:08AM in Manufacturing 1 comment

Summary:
In Pharmaceutical process manufacturing. Work definition quantities may require controlled revisions based on raw-material quality, assay results, potency and other production requirements.

Because this is a regulated pharmaceutical environment, every work definition change must follow a formal approval process with a complete audit trail. Approvals must be completed promptly to avoid delaying batch production while still maintaining appropriate GxP and regulatory controls.

Current Functionality

The available participant/routing options for Work Definition approvals include:

  • Parallel
  • Serial
  • Single Participant
  • Submitter

When an approval is assigned to a group using parallel routing, the workflow may wait for responses from all group members. This creates unnecessary delays when some approvers are on leave, unavailable or working a different shift.

Howdy, Stranger!
