Thank you, @Tafara for your insights. @Miki M-Oracle, Is Notify Assignees checkbox enabled under Setup > Support > Support Preferences > Update? With this preference enabled, Support Reps should automatically receive notification e-mail when support cases that they are assigned to are updated. I hope this helps.
