Has anyone used SAP to build & manage their OLF?

We are implementing the Recruiting module with a view to also implementing the Performance & Compensation modules. Although this decision has not been made we need to consider this when building our OLF.
We have SAP as our system of record so had thought we would use the SAP structure. Has anyone done this & do they have any 'learnings' for us?
