TBE - Status Change with Knockout Questions

We've recently started using knockout questions to disqualify candidates from a position and change their main status and req-specific status.  This process works; however, the candidate still shows as an un-viewed or new candidate even though they are in a rejected status.  Any ideas how to automatically change these candidates to viewed?
