Using Perform as a Mentoring Tool

We are looking to use perform as a mentoring/coaching tool as opposed to the traditional Performance Management. We will load goals and track progress and coaching sessions through transparent comments. If anyone has done anything like this before any tips or recommendations are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
