Building a pipe whilst req is 'waiting for approval'

Hey guys, just went live with our HM's using Taleo to approve req's and offers - all good so far

Prior to go live we had a status called 'open - waiting for approval' which was mapped to the open status allowing the job to be posted and a candidate pipe developed.

We now go from 'waiting for approval' to 'open' once approved - changing the status half way through to allow sourcing has all sorts of consequences

Any ideas on how to post a job whilt in 'waiting' status?
