Making req Title a picklist

We would like to change the 'title' field used with requisitions from a text field to a picklist, using a standard set of job titles to ensure consistency acorss the business.

I can create the pick list easily enough, and insert it into the requistion form - but I can not remove the 'title' field? Any suggestions? Is this possible?
