DQ Answers not tracked -12B

I have a client on 12B and they have an inactive DQs. The system should work that when a DQ (disqualification question) answer is submitted for an application the answer should be tracked in history. The system isn't working as designed and Support confirmed it is a known issue and is fixed in 12C.

The client isn't ready to go to 12C, so I wanted to know if anyone has suggestions for workarounds?
