Reporting issues after upgrading?

Has anyone else experienced Business Objects report queries not working after upgrading from 7.5?  We recently upgraded to 12C 4.5 and reports that our Recruiters used to run on a regular basis are now either consistently returning error messages or taking an extremely long time to generate data even when using a date range that would pull back data for only two days.

 

Oracle Support has indicated that we may need to optimize our reports however, as of yet, their recommendations have not solved our issues.

The common error message that we are receiving is:” A database error occurred. The database error text is "ORA-000028: your session has been killed (WIS 10901)”; which basically just sounds like it’s telling us that the report query as timed out?
