Searching for Employees

Is there a setting in the employees section that helps you search for employees more effectively? At present, we can only use the search function to search for employees who have been changed to the "employed" status, but we can't search for them using this fucntion if they're still in "pending" or "under offer" stage. This means if we want to find an employee who is "pending" or "under offer", we have to manually search through the entire list of employees after listing employees in alphabetical order. Surely there must be a way to use the seach function to search
