Hiring Manager Role Access

I'm having some trouble with the access that the Hiring Manager role has, and I'm hoping someone can make a suggestion that will help.

Ideally, we would like the Hiring Managers to only view the candidates that are attached to their requisitions AND are in a certain Req. Based Status.  So, I've setup the system to filter based on Main Status & Current User Owner (Candidate List View), and Req. Based Status (Requisition Candidate List View).  However, if a candidate applies to multiple positions, it doesn't work because the candidate's main status is available and that's not included in the list view (because Hiring Managers would see candidates that had already been rejected).
