Output Limitations with Reporting- help!

Our system administrator has indicated that there are limited outputs for data with all of our reports. The instruction I was given was to increase the use of filters to limit the amount of data in the output. This is very problematic when running reports on applicant data as there is so much data, even when using multiple filters and compiling lots of reports together, the data is still not complete. Any suggestions? Thank you!
