Conviction DQ law in Minnesota

Minnesota is adopting the "ban the box" law as of January 1, 2014 where companies are longer able to ask about an applicant's criminal background until they are either scheduled for an interview, or are receiving a conditional offer.

We are based in Minnesota, and would like to know what other Minnesota based companies are doing to comply with this new law.

We do use 2nd pass, however would like to obtain this information prior to the candidate accepting a verbal offer and completing 2nd pass. I understand that disqualification questions cannot be "broken-up" and placed in different areas. We do still want to ask a few DQ questions upon application, such as "Are you 18 years of age or older", etc.

Howdy, Stranger!
