Building Insight Reports

I'm wondering if any of you have created reports to easily capture # of offers and # of offers declined in a certain department, location, etc.     I've been able to build a report that shows req-based status and I can manipulate the data to sort on statuses that reflect offer declined and those hired, but there seems there should be an easier this data cleanly without a lot of data manipulation.
