Best Practices for a prolonged downtime

We are currently upgrading our Oracle EBS application which Taleo feeds into for new hires, rehires, etc. We are now in the testing phase but this will cause a significant downtime of both Oracle EBS and Taleo. Has anyone else been through a similar situation? One of our options is to leave the career section up to allows candidates to apply but the problem is the rehire check occurs first in the process and it requires Oracle EBS to be up to perform the check. Is there possibly another way to run something behind the scenes to to move these
