Employee Referral Submission Statuses

I was wondering if anyone knows how to display submission statuses for Referrals on the My Referrals page? I do have the setting set to display on the career site portal page, but it only ever displays completed. It doesn't display any other submissions statuses if we move the candidate through process in the requisition. It will update if I log in as my test candidate and the My Job Submissions tab, but it never reflects anything other than Completed for my Referrer to view.

Is that expected behavior or is this something I can update? Thanks
