New Reporting Tool: Testing Parameters during design

Is there an option to test report parameters while editing the layout? I know the insight reporting tool allowed us to edit the report layout while testing the report with specific parameters, but I have not yet found a way to do so in the new reporting tool. Am I missing something, or is this not an option?
