Using a Req UDF and dynamic dates

Hello - hoping the reporting guru's can provide some guidance for using a req UDF with dynamic date ranges.

We have a field (labeled 'Activate Date' and is a DATE type) that I am trying to use the dynamic date variables to help automate reports. I have noticed that this field in Taleo is displayed like MM-DD-YYYY (11-04-2014). When I try to use the dynamic dates I get the following reporting error: 'A database error occurred. The database error test is: ORA-01843: not a valid month. (WIS 10901)'.

Is there anyway to use dynamic dates with this UDF? I've included some screenshots below for some context and can provide more details if neccessary.

Howdy, Stranger!
