Use of TBE REST API to submit speculative CV/Resume

We're considering developing our own web pages and using the REST API to push and pull data to/from TBE (rather than using the CWS pages).

We're in the process of setting up a proof of concept, but can't see any details of how to submit a general application or speculative CV/Resume via the REST API.

Is this possible, and if so, where would we find details on how to do it?
