Resume Attachments Not Printable

Recently I've run into a very odd glitch when dealing with resumes attached to applications.  The issue seems to be limited to Word documents, but then most of the resumes are Word documents, so it's not a very diverse sample group.

I can preview and view the resumes just as we always have, however when I tell Word to remove the protected status so I can print it the resume text disappears and become a picture of a Taleo Login box. 

Is anyone else encountering this or is it unique to my system?  (If it's the security on my computer then I'm out of luck, IT will not alter that)
