Best way to change many candidates' hire statuses?

We have over 50 candidates who were hired against the wrong status - safer way to fix other than revert?

Is there an easier way to correct all of these? The only way I know how to do this is to revert each candidate back 1 step to Offer - Accepted, and then hire them again, but to hire them I need to first reopen the req. This is not ideal because it screws up the req fill dates (we have reports that pull based on latest fill date), and I have seen issues in some hire reports when the candidate was reverted, even when I filter on that condition. I'm wondering if there is a way to do this
