LUDS/UDF or Flex Field -- Reporting in OBI

I need to pull a particular large selection list code NOT value/description

I have a large selection list that we use, they are set up with code and description. I've add this as a UDF and to custom reporting but when I pull that flex field into OBI, it just gives me the description value. 

Is it possible to pull the code instead? Has anyone ran into this before?
