Formatting merge fields when exporting offer letters

Summary

Merge fields don't format correctly when exporting offer letters to Word

Content

We use Taleo to create our offer letters and then merge them into a Word document on our letterhead. But when we do the export, the salary field exports as a single number instead of a dollar amount (eg: 50000 rather than $50,000.00) even if it's entered into the offer letter form with the dollar sign, etc, included. Same thing with the offer expiration date-- we want it to export as "June 1, 2016" but it comes out "6-1-16" instead. Is there any way to edit the form so it exports these fields with the right formatting? Thanks in advance!
