In the Task Description, when I add the html to open the link in a new browser, the code does not 'stick'

I've created an Employee Task which involves watching a H&S video by clicking on a link.  Ideally I want the employee to open the link in a new tab, however when I add target="_blank" to the HTML and click on Save, this html is not saving.  Any suggestions?
