Anyone using BI Publisher for Word/Excel formatted docs?

We have two reports that were created in BI Publisher by a contractor who assisted us in transitioning our reports from BO to OBI.  We have since recieved a request to update these reports.  I'm wondering if anyone is currently using BI Publisher or has knowledge on how to update/modify reports using it.  I have the plug in for MS Office installed and a downloaded xml file of the report however nothing opens when I import to BI Publisher.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
