My company interviews for several categories of positions on a regular basis. Actuary is an example but there are other 'categories' as well.  The HR dept has asked if there is a way to mark/flag candidates who aren't successful for a particular position, such as an actuarial position, so the recruiter can go back and take another look at that candidate for a different actuarial position in the future.  She described her requirement as "something like a folder for each job category, into which I place all the candidates I might want to go back and reconsider when future positions need to be filled in
