Workflow management in TBE

I have a potential customer who likes very much TBE (they are only 200 employees) but they have questions about workflow management which I can't find answers for. Those questions are about managing the process of changes with an employee - being either changing salary, changing bonus or promoting the employee to another position. Yes, we can do that directly in the employee profile (provided the needed access rights are assigned) but what about the approval/confirmation process which might include people from Finance department etc.?
Can someone help me with this subject?
