Use of and best practices for the "Quick Session"

I was wondering if anyone is currently using "Quick Sessions?" Nothing has been written on this for a couple years now, The best explanation I summarized from previous posts is that it is a one time event, such as a meeting, that you want tracked (occurrence and Users). Any thoughts?
