Stage works Prod doesn't

Content

When creating Model Profiles, I am able to run through the whole process in my staging environment but in production I get stopped.

The part I am not able to get to work is under manage model profile - requirements - content type

There is no drop down section for content type - does this sound familiar to anyone?

I am wondering if something is enabled in stage that isn't in prod...I have checked through the other Profile options and everything is matching up between the two systems, this is just where I get stuck.
