How to restrict the candidate to edit the source tracking if they are referred

There is a scenario where when a candidate is referred by someone, Agent, Internal Employee, the candidate will receive an acknowledgement email with the link to complete his/her profile. Currently the candidate can edit the "Source Tracking" even if he was referred by someone else. Please advise.
