Upgraded Custom Employee Abstract Role Query

When our environment was upgraded to Release 12 our Employee Abstract Role inherits from the following:

- Employee (HCM)
- Employee (FSCM)
- Employee (CRM) 

The above were defined as part of our Implementation (we went live on Release 11).

The Release 12 Security Upgrade Guide (May 2017) has a section called ‘Copying Abstract Roles After the Upgrade’ on page 66. The Security Guide mentions on page 67 that we must remove the inherited (HCM), (CRM) & (FSCM) roles from our Employee Abstract Role. Can anyone confirm if we should be removing these roles as part of the Post Upgrade Steps; and if yes does the same apply to other Abstract Roles (e.g. Line Manager & Contingent Worker)?
