BI Publisher Date Prompt

Hi All
I'm struggling to get a Date prompt working in BI Publisher. I can get the prompt to show but it doesn't work (seems more complex than the easy prompts in OTBI!).
Basically, I need a prompt for Calendar Month End Dates (From Workforce Management, Reported Time Cards). I added a parameter and a LOV with the SQL:
SELECT CAL_MONTH_END_DATE FROM FND_CAL_MONTH
But it isn't working. Do I have to add anything else? Currently, I cannot see a clear link between the data set and the parameter, which is why I think it's not working. I have seen a report built by somebody else (offshore consultants) and it included this SQL in a DATASET (and not an LOV):
