Unique review, cloned unique forms, and review workflow. Need a unique notification.

After creating a custom notification template, I created a custom workflow under "review workflows" and then edited the custom workflow. to add a the new notification under the "new" status. When I assign the custom review template, it sends both the standard notification and the custom notification to the manager and it doesn't appear that I can turn off the standard notification without impacting all other reviews. See attachment.

 

It makes no sense to me why anyone would want to send two notifications to the review manager when the review template gets assigned. But it makes a lot of sense to have a review workflow with custom notifications for each status with the ability to ignore the standard notification.
