PeopleSoft to HCM Coexist

We got behind on the error clean up and handling for our weekly coexist between PeopleSoft and HCM. We are now trying to clean up the data but it has been a slow moving project. Currently, we are finding the worker dat files of each employees with a discrepancy, editing the worker dat file and importing it. 

Is there a way that we could just write an update script instead of preparing the full worker dat files for each employee with issues? 

Desperate for any best practices or insight.
