OBI Release 17.3 deployment schedule

Why are OBI releases deployed to both PROD and STG on the same date?

We received the notification of our deployment date to OBI Release 17.3. Why does the deployment include both Production and Staging on the same day? This doesn't give any opportunity to test. Do other clients have the same concern? What are the OBI Release policies?
