"Not visible" Enrollments Showing in Catalog Widget

Why would an enrollment with a visible date in the future show in the catalog widget?Content
Apologies if this one has been thrashed out before, but I have an Enrollment set to be visible next week that is being displayed in my catalog widget.
I excluded it from the LC search in the enrollment and it dropped from view, this makes sense on one level as the catalog widget is being fed from search, but surely the visibility property should carry with it being automatically excluded until the visible date.
Feels like a small pick here as we have a workaround, but, you know, one less admin action is more time to workaround somewhere else :-)
