Leading zero in zip/postal codes

Summary

Can we protect postcodes when converting to csv?

Content

I'm running a report containing global postal address data and any countries with zip / postal codes with a leading 0, the 0 is dropping off when converting to csv.  I've tried converting to a txt file instead and using the Excel Data Import tool, but I don't want to edit the whole column, just those affected.  Is there a way to designate the post / zip code field as text so the leading 0 doesn't drop off on conversion?  Thanks
