Custom Email Field - Anyway To Use TBE Templates When Sending An Email?

Morning,

I created a custom email field.

When I click on the email within that field, a new email pops up using Outlook.  Ideally I would like to use the templates I have in TBE to send this email.  Is there a way to change this so I can send an email through TBE?

 

BTW - The email addresses I will be using in this field are current employees (so I can create a user profile for them if needed).  Would it be possible to create a new custom email field that pulls from users already in the system?  I'm thinking if this is possible, I would be able to send an email using an existing TBE email template (like we do now for candidates).
